Photoproduction of Charged Mesons from Deuterons

The photoproduction cross sections of charged mesons from deuterons are calculated in the impulse approximation. Expressions for the angular distribution and total cross section are obtained in terms of free-nucleon cross sections and the nuclear potential. The results are in good agreement with the experimental measurements of ${\pi }^{+}$ production near threshold.
