Abstract

[Fe₂S₂(OAr)₄]^2– complexes, synthesised by ligand exchange of [Fe₂S₂Cl₄]^2– with ArO^– characterised by electornic, n.m.r., i.r., and Raman spectroscopy and shown to undergo one electron reduction to give species having e.s.r. spectra closely related to those for [2Fe–2S] proteins of the Rieske type
