Abstract
In the light of the palynological and paleobotanical information available, three Miocene floristic regions may be recognized in China, namely, (1) the Qinghai-Xizang Quercus-Betula-Thicket Floristic Region, (2) the Inland Forest–Meadow and Steppe Floristic Region, and (3) the Eastern Monsoon Broad-Leaved Floristic Region. Each may be further subdivided into two or three provinces. Their floral characteristics and regional boundaries are discussed in some detail. Keywords
