Abstract
A constitutive equation which describes the behavior of strain rate sensitive materials which do not strain harden significantly is often required in the solution of various problems involving metal flow. Such an equation, containing four adjustable but physically meaningful constants, is proposed, and is based on equation suggested by Ashby and Verrall. The equation is shown to describe the deformation of a titanium alloy at high temperature with good accuracy.
