Serological Tests in 150 Cases of Leprosy

Abstract
Daguet and Languillon subjected the serum from 150 lepers to a battery of lipoidal antigen serologic tests and to the TPI tests. In the population from which these patients were drawn syphilis was present in 35%. In 79% of the lepers both the reagin and treponemal tests were reactive. It is suggested that the belief that leprosy frequently produces biologic false positive STS should be reconsidered in the light of their findings.
