Abstract
We use numerical methods to study the harmonic collective excitations in the Heisenberg-Mattis model of a disordered magnet in one, two, and three dimensions. The zero-temperature dynamic structure factor is calculated and compared with the predictions of a recent theory by Sherrington. The densities of states are also calculated. It is concluded: (i) Sherrington's theory provides a good description of the long-wavelength dynamics, and (ii) dimensionality plays an important role in determining the character of the dynamic response. Keywords
