Abstract
The VC, FEV1 and histamine hyper-reactivity of the bronchial tree were measured in young asthmatic patients and patients with chronic asthmatic bronchitis and emphysema. A marked fall during the night of the threshold concentrations of histamine was found and interpreted as an increase of the hyperreactivity in the nightly hours. The significance of the results are discussed. The hyperreactivity can be regarded as a fundamental feature in asthmatic and bronchitic patients. The relation between hyperreactivity and lung function disturbances were discussed. Keywords
