Abstract
The diffusion of mercury at very low concentration in single crystal gold has been measured over the temperature range 500°C to approximately 1000°C using a sectioning technique. It was found that above 600°C the temperature dependence of the diffusion coefficient followed the equation: The results obtained are discussed in relation to current theories of impurity diffusion in metals. Keywords
