Abstract
In order to determine the relative efficacy of autogenous vaccine and antibiotics in experimental pyelonephritis, groups of rabbits with partial ligation of one ureter and infected intra-venously with Escherichia coll were treated with vaccine, tetracycline, or served as controls. Severe pyelonephritis was observed in 96% of the control animals, 25% of the vaccinated, and 0% of the tetracycline treated rabbits. It is concluded that tetracycline is more effective than vaccination. Keywords
