Abstract
A case is made for the existence of a primary antiphospholipid antibody syndrome. This clinical entity can be characterized as including an elevation in titers of antibodies to negatively charged phospholipids, hypercoagulation, thrombocytopenia, and recurrent fetal loss. With further elucidation, the systemic pathologic roles of antiphospholipid antibodies should emerge. Keywords
