Abstract
A search for structures in which both valence neutron and proton occupy predominantly Ω=(1/2) orbits, called doubly decoupled, has been successfully conducted in ,184Ir. These evaporation residues were populated through the ,174YbN,4n) fusion reactions and studied using γ-ray spectroscopy techniques.
