Abstract
A control scheme to reduce the mismatch in power generation and consumption of electric power systems is developed using the variable structure systems concept. This scheme is introduced to refine the dynamic properties of the presently used integral controller which has been originated in accordance with a steady state concept. The new controller changes its structure according to a certain logic which results in distinct advantageous properties. Keywords
