Abstract
Recent transmission electron microscopy examinations of heavy-ion-bombarded vanadium have shown that the peak swelling temperature was sensitive to impurity content. In addition, anomalously large strain fields were observed around voids at 650°C. At higher temperatures, thin precipitates were observed to form on void surfaces. These strain and precipitate effects are shown to be caused by impurity segregation to void surfaces during irradiation. Keywords
