Abstract
Presentation of CaseA sixty-nine-year-old woman was admitted to the hospital because of mental confusion.She had been well until ten years previously, when loss of scalp hair began, eventuating in complete baldness five years later. At that time she was given "liver injections" because of anemia and difficulty in walking. For several years before entry she complained of weakness and fatigue. Three years before admission hoarseness and somnolence developed. Two years later constipation occurred, and for several months before admission she was markedly anorectic.
