Abstract
This software program computes the Mantel-Haenszel statistic that is used for detecting differential item functioning (DIF). The main features of the program are (a) the capability of using total test score or a "purified" test score as the internal criterion for matching examinees, (b) using an external criterion for matching examinees if one is available, (c) complete descriptive statistics on the test data, (d) complete reference and focal group performance data for items flagged as DIF, (e) additional DIF statistics, and(f) availability of mainframe and PC versions. The program can currently handle up to 100 items. There is no limit on the number of examinees per group. Keywords
