Abstract
A simple, economical balloon‐borne net radiometer is described. The net radiation is essentially obtained from the difference of fourth‐powers of the temperatures of the bottom and top radiating surfaces, and the internal conduction, which is proportional to the temperature difference between the bottom and top surfaces. The results of a measurement of net radiation to 160 mb are discussed. Keywords
