Mechanisms of Hydrogen Producing Reactions on Palladium

Abstract
Overvoltage‐log current density relationships on both the polarization and diffusion sides of palladium cathode‐diaphragms were measured. Effect of diaphragm thickness, cold working, and poisons were determined. It was shown that on the diffusion side, is a function of the atomic hydrogen concentration, and the rate of the hydrogen producing mechanism is diffusion controlled.
