Chalcogenide Glasses as Sensitizing Layer for Offset Printing Plates

Abstract
The possibilities for sensitizing offset printing plates on the basis of evaporated layers of chalcogenide glasses are studied. The dependence between the qualities of the offset plates and the surface treatment of the aluminium substrate is followed. It is shown that offset plates sensitized on the basis of evaporated As2S, layers exhibit high quality, good run length, easy and non-critical processing, making them especially suitable for practical application.
