NEW CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE ANATOMICAL CONNECTIONS OF THE BRAIN AND THE LYMPHATIC SYSTEM

Abstract
Using the experimental lymph stasis, i.e. with a "self-injection with lymph", lymph vessels were demonstrated in the substance of the dura mater in the region of the base of the skull. The connection of these lymph vessels with the cervical lymph trunk was shown. This observation presents a morphological basis for the lymph drainage in the scala posterior, in striking contrast to the uncertainties and contradictions in the available literature. Thus the severe morphological and functional alterations, induced by the radical ligature of the cervical lymph vessels, were traced back to their structural reasons.
