Abstract
A study of simulated anterior glottic stenosis was conducted on large canine larynges, using a variety of metal and plastic prostheses for repair. There was no significant amount of granulation tissue in the anterior commissure, and complete vocal cord epithelium regeneration occurred in those experiments terminated at the end of two to three weeks. An umbrella-like silicone keel with a thin intralaryngeal extension was used. The principles resulting from this experimentation have been successfully applied in 17 of 18 clinical cases of anterior glottic stenosis. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
