Abstract
Analgesia with a mixture containing 50% nitrous oxide and 50% oxygen (Nitronox) was evaluated in 47 patients with abdominal pain, chest pain, musculoskeletal trauma, and burns. Of these, 93.6% experienced either partial or complete relief of pain. There were no complications attributed to its application; the short duration of action makes its use suitable during emergency transportation. (JAMA242:2418-2419, 1979)Keywords
