Abstract
A large q expansion of the partition function of the anisotropic q-state Potts model in two dimensions is given up to the sixth order in q-12/. At the critical temperature, it is in agreement with the exact solutions for the partition function and for the latent heat (the latter does not depend on the anisotropy). It does not show any simple factorisation in the parameters of the model. Keywords
