Abstract
High intensities pose new problems in the design of transport systems. Induced radioactivity, radiation damage to materials, radiation induced chemical reactions, and heating problems are discussed. Proposed solutions to these problems for the Stanford Linear Accelerator transport systems in the beam switchyard are outlined. Keywords
