Abstract
The band structures of copper and silver calculated using the empirical-pseudopotential method are presented. The density of states for silver obtained from the band structure is compared with photoemission experiments. The charge distributions of the two metals were calculated in the (100) plane. A comparison of the distributions is made with reference to the results of the band structures. Keywords
