Abstract
The work of Mond on the change in the ionic permeability of erythrocytes at pH 8.3 is criticized. Using buffer solutions to bring the erythrocyte to pH 8-10 no reversal of the ionic permeability was obtained. The potentials at the membrane interfaces are discussed in relation to theories of the mechanism of ionic penetration. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
