Abstract
Development times for all life stages of variegated cutworm, Peridroma saucia (Hübner), reared on artificial diet were determined at 10, 15, 20, 25, 30°C and two dual-temperature regimes. Egg hatch did not occur at 35°C, and larvae reared at this temperature did not complete development beyond the 4th instar. The lower developmental threshold temperature was estimated to be 3.0°C for egg hatch, 4.1°C for larvae, 5.0°C for prepupae, 5.7°C for pupae, and 4.2°C for total development. Egg hatch, larval development, pupal development, and total development required 106, 382, 273, and 858 Celsius degree-days, respectively. This publication has 4 references indexed in Scilit:
