Abstract
5-Fluorouracil is incorporated into the nucleic acids of fertilized eggs of the house fly Musca domestica (L) when adult females are fed diets containing the antimetabolite. On the other hand, no incorporation occurs when adult males are fed the treated diets. Most of the antimetabolite present in the eggs exists as 5-fluorouridylic acid and is incorporated into the RNA. There is also a relationship between the amount of antimetabolite incorporated into the eggs and chemosterilant activity. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
