Abstract
SIR-8514, (2-Chloro-N-[[[4-(trifluoromethoxy) phenyl] amino]carbonyl]benzamide) and SIR-6874 (2-Chloro-N-[[[3,5-dichloro-4-nitrophenoxy) phenyl]amino]carbonyl]benzamide) are highly effective inhibitors of mosquito development in the laboratory and field. SIR-8514 offers potential for controlling larval populations of Aedes nigromaculis (Ludlow) and A. melanimon Dyar at rates as low as 1.8–3.6 g AI/ha. Some nontarget organism populations, especially cladocerans, also are suppressed by the treatments, but recoveries occur and treatments did not result in damages greater than those following applications of classical insecticides. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
