Abstract
A pectinolytic strain of Streptococcus bovis isolated from the bovine rumen produced an endopolygalacturonate lyase (EC 4.2.2.2). The principal decomposition products of pectin were unsaturated methyl tetra- and tri-galacturonates.Keywords
