Abstract
A profound loss of body mass and energy reserves is a characteristic feature of cancer cachexia. Because glucose is a major energy-yielding fuel, abnormalities of carbohydrate metabolism may prove to be important in the development or end-result of this common syndrome. In this paper, we review the known alterations of glucose and lactate metabolism that occur in patients with malignant tumors. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
