Abstract
A strategy for basic research in personality and social psychology is outlined, which allows many psychologists to work in non-academic environments. An example is described and analyzed into a series of stages. An interdependence between academic and non-academic settings, with program evaluation may be highly desirable. Graduate programs may consider how the training they provide might make such interdependence possible. Keywords
