Abstract
Famphur dissolved in ethanol was administered to sheep via rumenal cannula at one ml/h. At 5 mg/kg/day, a significant increase in mortality and decrease in % egg hatch was noted for adult Gulf Coast ticks, Amblyomma Maculatum Koch; 7 mg/kg/day provided complete control of A. maculatum. Famphur was less effective against the lone Star tick, A. americanum (L.) and the American dog tick, Dermacentor variabilis (Say). Complete control of the bed bug, Cimex lectularius L. was achieved at both rates. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
