Abstract
An outbreak of hand, foot, and mouth disease is described, involving 51 cases. In addition to the hand vesicles, foot vesicles, and mouth ulcers, children under the age of 3 had characteristic rash on the buttocks. There was some evidence that Coxsackie A type 16 virus was the causal agent. A similar though clinically distinct disease is described, characterized by Koplik''s type spots leading to mouth ulceration, petechiae on the soft palate, and general illness. This publication has 11 references indexed in Scilit:
