Abstract
Kidney specialist Bernard Salick ran dialysis clinics until his six-year-old daughter developed a rare form of cancer. Dismayed about her care, he began opening his own for-profit cancer centers. Today, backed by pharmaceutical giant Zeneca, his business is booming.
