Silicifications nord-sahariennes [with discussion]

Abstract
Describes samples of silicified continental limestone (and a silicified wood) from the Beni- Abbes region in the north Sahara, Algeria, compares their mode of silicification with that of marine limestones, and concludes that silicificationof the continental beds may be the result of sublacustrine processes in a permanent lake basin or of subaerial processes in stagnant pools which developed during sheet flood erosion.
