Determination of the coefficients of selective sorption in polymer solutions in multicomponent solvents from density increments

Abstract
The density increment method has been used to measure the selective sorption coefficient of 2,2,3,3‐tetrafluoropropanol (TFP) onto poly(methyl methacrylate) from the solvent mixture benzene‐TFP (80:20 by volume). The results are in good agreement with the data obtained by the established refractive index increment method. The density increment method seems to be a promising tool for the characterization of polymer solutions in multicomponent solvents.
