Abstract
This paper reports a study of hesitation phenomena in English speech. A description of seven types of hesitation phenomena, is made and each of the seven types discussed individually and in comparison with one another. The results and implications of the study are compared with those of related studies. There is a discussion with particular reference to function words.Keywords
