Abstract
In rats fed on a low-grade human diet, an unusual kind of epithelial proliferation was observed in the small and large guts. This resulted in multiple diverticula, which penetrated the entire thickness of the bowel wall, and which were regarded microscopically as an acquired heterotopia. No evidence of malignancy was detected. Keywords
