Abstract
The cross section is given in the impulse approximation for inelastic - and - scattering assuming an ejected proton is counted in coincidence with the scattered electron. The process is considered in detail. This cross section is evaluated for the Gaussian, Irving, and Irving-Gunn three-body wave functions, the deuteron being described by a Hulthén wave function. The best agreement with the preliminary experimental results is obtained using the Irving-Gunn wave function.
