Abstract
PATIENTS with implanted pacemakers are often seen initially by a physician in an emergency situation. It is thus imperative that the physician have an easily available, unmistakable way to specifically identify the implanted pacemaker. At present, there are five major brands of electronic pacemakers in use in the United States; all these pacemaker units are not interchangeable. It is the purpose of this report to describe a method of pacemaker identification using the distinctive shape of each brand of pacemaker and the arrangement of the batteries and other electronic components when seen on x-ray study.Each brand of pacemaker manufactured . . .Keywords
