Abstract
A systematic approximation scheme for the estimation of the dielectric correlation factor of the cubic structure of ice is presented. The graphical series approximation utilized here is analogous to the two spin Ising model calculation of the zero field susceptibility. Accounting for all graphs that have twelve edges or less, we estimate a value of 2.99584 for the correlation factor, g, of cubic ice. The ratio of successive coefficients in the series and a physical argument are given to estimate the magnitude of the remaining terms in the series. Keywords
