In search of literature on alternative therapies

Abstract
This information about the literature on alternative therapies is not all-inclusive. Our goal was to provide information on literature we consider valuable for locating credible resources. These sources can serve as a springboard to additional information on many of the commonly used alternative therapies. In evaluating information from the Internet, pharmacists should assess the site’s level of authority and take that into account when weighing the credibility and reliability of the material presented. The critical evaluator must bear in mind that much of the information on the Internet has not undergone peer review and that not all the studies reported were conducted as double-blind, placebo-controlled, randomized clinical trials—the "gold standard" for establishing the safety and efficacy of therapy, whether it be conventional or alternative.
