Abstract
The possible role of beta-carotene and lutein in the synthesis of vitamin A by goldfish (Carassius auratus) was examined at temperatures of 15 to 24°C and a photoperiod of 8L:16D. Goldfish readily converted beta-carotene and lutein to vitamin A, but lutein conversion alone to vitamin A2 was suggested. Vitamin A1 conversion to A2 was also observed. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
