Abstract
In order to make a successful transition from high school to college, learning‐disabled students need specialized support services that are too rarely provided. Ideally a guidance counselor or advisor will know a student's strengths and limitations, understand the impact of the new demands of a college environment, and help design a plan to ease the transition. The goal is to maximize opportunities for success without compromising either the caliber of instruction or the learner's self‐confidence. Keywords
