Abstract
An apparatus, essentially as that of Consden, Gordon and Martin (Biochem. Jour. 40: 33, 1940) was packed with Hyflo Super-Cel containing a mixture of chondroitin sulfuric acid (I) and hyaluronic acid (II) in buffers at pH values of 3.7, 4.7 and 6.7, respectively. A potential of 6 to 7 volts d.c. was applied and at a suitable time the slab was cut into strips 1-2 cm. wide and each section eluted and analyzed. A fairly good separation ensued, particularly at pH 4.7. The presence of I and II in hog skin polysaccharide was demonstrated. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
