Abstract
In a preceding publication,1the topical application of dexamethasone *in the normal eye was shown to produce a significant increase in intraocular pressure and a reduction in outflow facility and inflow rate of aqueous. The magnitude of the effect was found to be independent of the initial value of C, the tonographic estimate of outflow facility, and to increase markedly with the duration of drug application and with age. This presentation will report on the effect of topical application of dexamethasone on intraocular pressure and its dynamics in the glaucomatous eye. The results revealed that, in comparable age groups, the dexamethasone-inducedraocular pressure is markedly greater in the glaucomatous eye. Furthermore, they showed that this effect is of equal magnitude in the low tension and in the hypertensive open-angle indicating the intimate similarity of the two disease categories. Sample and Procedure The sample consisted of two majorps: Medically Controlled
