Skeletal Changes in Cortisone-Treated Male Rats

Abstract
Considerable growth depression was shown by histologic study and radiographic measurements of skulls and tibias of immature male rats fed cortisone, 0.05 mg/gm food, for 20 days. The depression was augmented by 0.2 mg desiccated thyroid/gm of cortisone diet. Intracranial height was greater in cortisone-treated rats, compared to that of pair-fed controls.
