Abstract
Digital computers have been used successfully since May 1953, first in Schenectady, N. Y., and then in Pittsfield, Mass., for transformer design (proposition and requisition) and for various transformer development applications. An iterative procedure, which converges automatically and rapidly to the desired solution, has been developed for designing transformers on digital computers. The application of digital computers allows for the first time in an economical manner the complete optimization of the design. Considerable savings in time and dollars have been achieved as well as more accurate designs, which all follow the same consistent design philosophy.Keywords
