Abstract
A classification of diseases is important in epidemiologic studies, indexing of clinical disorders, communication, and education. Since the 10th revision of the International Classification of Diseases (ICD‐10) in 1992, a specialty‐based neurological adaptation (ICD‐10NA) has been developed to reflect the specific needs of individual subspecialties. Although the revision was constrained by the need to maintain compatibility with previous classifications, the new ICD‐10NA of Extrapyramidal and Movement Disorders aims to provide an updated and comprehensive categorization of movement disorders. Keywords
