Abstract
The blood proteins are oxidized with ammonium persulphate and concentrated HNO3. The cooled solution is treated with acetone and ammonium thiocyanate and colorimetrically compared with a standard Fe solution or a permanent artificial color standard indistinguishable from the thiocyanate (described in the text). Acetone intensifies the color and diminishes dissociation. The outside error is usually 2% and the method is rapid. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
